South Florida’s premier MMA organization announced the renewal of their streaming rights deal with UFC Fight Pass and the addition of combat jiujitsu to the promotion.
What to expect from TITAN FC Combat Jiujitsu Events
Titan FC CEO Jeff Aronson told MMA Junkie “As a longtime jiu-jitsu practitioner and avid fan of all combat sports, I’ve been particularly intrigued with the growth of combat jiu-jitsu, so it’s both an exciting and logical brand extension for Titan FC,” Aronson stated.
Titan’s COO,Lex McMahon, told MyMMANews, “It became evident that there is tremendous energy and fan support for both combat jiu jitsu, so it only makes sense that Titan expand our expertise in combat sports and event production and promotion to include this robust and rapidly growing aspect of combat sports to our product offering.”
It will be interesting to see the production set up for the combat jiujitsu events. Anyone who has gone to a TITAN FC MMA event knows that Titan FC does not fall short of quality production. Titan FC strives to give the fans the best MMA experience by putting on quality, well matched up fights, great production at a great venue.
A New Formula in Fight Fan Experience
It remains to be seen if Titan FC will follow the same formula (set up) as other Grappling events such as FIGHT 2WIN. Fight 2 Win hosts live events in Miami and across the United States, focusing on highlighting top local grapplers and creating an experience closer to a Las Vegas boxing match. Fight 2 Win events have the highest production value for live BJJ in the country, featuring a high-intensity soundtrack, LED screens, a 32-foot catwalk for fighters, an elevated mat to improve the audience experience, and a constant stream of entertainment throughout the night.
Will Titan FC bring the same production, or will they get more creative, set the bar higher and build a new and better experience for the sport to be displayed around the world on UFC FIGHT PASS.
Florida MMA Events Owner, Frank Morejon – “the Florida Fight Community is excited and can’t wait to see Titan FC’s first Combat Submission event in 2019. We look forward to seeing the same high quality match up’s that Titan FC is known for from their MMA events.”
COMBAT JIUJITSU FLORIDA TIES
What is the history between Florida and Combat Jiujitsu? When you talk about Submission events, one name comes to mind..Vagner Rocha. Rocha has made his mark as a Professional MMA fighter, fighting for the UFC and a World Class Champion Submission Grappler. Vagner runs his successful school in Pembroke Pines Florida with Top MMA and BJJ Athletes. It is safe to say that Vagner is a pioneer for the Combat Submission movement in Florida.

Vagner Rocha was asked by FloridaMMAEvents.com “what will it take for CJJ to grow in Florida? “ “CJJ growing here will take a serious investment from major promoter, Rocha stated.” Check out Vagner Rocha Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds Highlight Video
What is Combat Jiujitsu?
Combat Jiu Jitsu is a blend of grappling and striking. The rule set allows for fighters to use open hand slaps to any part of their opponents when the fight is on the ground. While on the feet, standard grappling rules apply. But it’s the action on the floor that creates an interesting dynamic.
Competitors trade blows to produce openings that allow them to improve position, lock in a match-ending submission, or fight their way out of one.
While one may think that open-handed slaps aren’t dangerous, fighters need to be wary that taking one too many can cause the match to end via a technical knockout much akin to what happens in the realm of mixed martial arts.
This theory has since been proven when Vagner Rocha TKO’d Nathan Orchard using open palm strikes during their Combat Jiu-jitsu match at Eddie Bravo Invitational 13.
